Analytics entails so much more than simply tracking a site’s pageviews. Without it, all of your marketing efforts amount to nothing more than throwing darts at a board.
At a minimum, you should be thoroughly conversant with:
- How visitors arrive at your site
- Visitors’ behavior on your site
- How visitors depart your site
Keywords searched, sites left, links clicked, pages viewed, time spent, etc. All combine to form a unique pattern which can be used to tailor and refine your marketing plan.
